About College
Muthayammal Engineering College, started in the year 2000 and run by the Muthayammal Educational Trust and Research Foundation is located at Rasipuram, 25 Kms from Salem with the congenial and well-developed college campus . Under the able guidance and patronage of Shri R.Kandasamy, Chairman and Prof.K.Gunasekaran, M.E., (Ph.D) FIE, Secretary & Managing Trustee, the college has developed excellent facilities and resources such as spacious classrooms, seminar halls, well-equipped laboratories, workshops, well-stocked libraries, dedicated highspeed broadband Internet connectivity and well-qualified faculty.
The college offers 6 under-graduate (B.E., B.Tech.), 5 post-graduate courses (M.E., MCA, MBA) and is affiliated to the Anna University, Coimbatore. The college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and four UG programs have been applied for Accreditation by National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
The college has 11 academic departments and 3 Research centres each headed by a competent and experienced professor. The institution has 160 well qualified staff members including 10 professors with Ph.D. degrees In addition .52 faculty members are pursuing their PhD degrees and actively involved in research. The Institution has also established a research centre to carry our innovative research in Logical Image processing and Nanoelectronics. In the past three years around 175 research papers have been published in Journals and conferences by the teachers and around 500 technical papers have been presented in various Symposiums by the students.
A comprehensive accidental insurance scheme covers all the staff, students and their parents. The value of the education and training imparted by the college is highlighted by interest shown by leading companies for on-campus recruitment. An exclusive placement cell with interview rooms, training rooms, Group discussion room and Examination halls is established with all the modern facilities
