One of the hardest and most important tasks in picking a college is building a list of colleges that fits your needs and would accept you.
It’s often easy to find one, two, or three colleges you’d really like, with ideas from a parent or older sibling and friends, But it’s much harder to find relevant alternatives: colleges similar to your first choice, but ones that, for one reason or another, are better for your needs.
To help the students we have built a tool, which will guide you with information and analytics to find the best fit for your needs.
Picking the right college is very important to step towards launching a career. But often, students and parents
make this decision without knowing all of the information about colleges. Myklassroom.com has developed a tool; Find your college, to help students and their families to make informed decision . TNEA College Finder lets users find the best engineering colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu that suit your needs and credentials
Find your chance for success: Students are often so consumed with getting into college that they think will be accepting based on cut-off marks. What really counts is earning a degree and choosing a career that best fits you. Look for colleges based on your interest, career plans and also the locations. Extra pointer: Before you go to the counseling pre-select 8-10 colleges that will meet your needs.
Find the right alternatives: Colleges that seem similar can produce strikingly different student outcomes. After searching for a college, Find ”Similar Colleges” on the right to compare campuses with common characteristics, like the qualifications for entering students, placement rate and the average salary after graduation. Not only will this information help you add schools similar to the one(s) you’ve already put on your list, it will help you discover schools that you haven’t yet heard of that would be good choices given your preferences and cut-off marks.
It’s all about the location: Many believe the best college option is the one closest (or farthest away) from home or in a city near your home. But consider whether proximity to home is worth the risk of attending a school where the chances of get placed in a good company are slim. Keep in mind all of your options for higher education in the region that works best for you and your family. Use filter option on the left to find a large pool of colleges in a city and then choose the best one for you. Some rural colleges are better than city colleges too, use your judgement in choosing them.
Should you look for reputation: It can be fun to go to school with friends or based on rankings and recognitions. What matters more is the facilities, the infrastructure and the industry partnerships at the colleges. Check out details about the colleges at Engineering college list (Tamilnadu)
Other factors
Autonomous Syllabus: The College should not be bound to a rigid syllabus. It should be designed in a way that amendments can be carried out as and when necessary. The syllabus should have a wide range of options.
Success rate: Check the success rate of the passed out students. Collect details regarding how many students who had passed out from that college are now well placed.
Active Alumni: Check how active is the alumni association of that college. Active alumni association shows that the students still remember the college, from which they have benefited the most.
Placement Scenario: Placement prospects play a pivotal role in selection. But, don’t select a college purely on the basis of placement offers.
